The Moises Bertoni Foundation exists since 1988. Their main mission is the environmental conservation in Paraguay. But they chose to work on conservation particularly through education and local development. One their projects is about tourism development, and Florie visited them during her HopTour Latin America (the foundation office is in Asuncion):
- The Scientific Museum Moises Bertoni and its 200 hectares natural reserve, located in Presidente Franco, near to the Iguazu waterfalls and the triple border with Argentina and Brazil.
- The Mbaracayu Lodge and its 64 405 hectares natural reserve (the biggest of Paraguay), located near to Curuguaty at the north-est of the country.
