estled at about 370 meters above sea level and uniquely situated in Taroko National Park, the hotel overlooks the Liwu Stream and offers beautiful views of the Ta Mountain. It is ideally located to explore the natural wonders of the park and experience the rich culture of the local community.
The Taroko National Park was named after the local indigenous community: the Truku. It is one of the most beautiful natural sites in Taiwan, and offers majestic sceneries created by continuous tectonic activity combined with the erosive power of the Liwu River. You can encounter the magnificent gorges and towering precipices through 15 different trails around the park.
The hotel is made up of 37 cottages inspired by the Truku decor. The general manager, Mr. Zheng, and his colleagues devote great efforts in preserving the Truku culture, caring for the local community (90% of the staff are Truku) and cooperating with local artists to promote their work.
The after-dinner show is a perfect example: Local employees and villagers gather to unveil various musical interpretations, never seen before traditional instruments (including the Makino bamboo harmonica and the Nutgall Tree Xylophone) and traditional dances that narrate the culture and history of the Truku.
Since the hotel’s opening in 2010, Mr. Zheng plans and continuously evaluates its sustainable development strategies. In 2012, the hotel was awarded the “STEP eco certificate – Bronze” by STI and “Green Hotel Mark” by Environmental Protection Administration.
Don’t miss the exceptional opportunity to discover the true beauty of the Hualien region and Truku community!
