The Sarus Crane is the largest of all Crane species and the largest flying bird, with a medium height of 176 cm! Classified as vulnerable by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), the Crane visits the Anlung Pring site from December to April.

Located in the south of the country, near the Vietnam border, Anlung Pring is a bird reserve of about 200 hectares. Launched in 2015, the project’s main objective is to protect the region’s migratory birds, while offering the opportunity for visitors to come admire and photographe them in their natural element.

Led by the local community, the project connects multiple stakeholders: villagers, farmers, and local authorities, as well as NGOs including IUCN, Critical Ecosystem, and Wild Cambodia.

Guests have the possibility to enjoy local dishes in the heart of the reserve, and/or to spend the night in one of the village’s homestay (unique experience guaranteed!), while having access to bicycles and binoculars to explore the surrounding landscapes.

Anlung Pring is conservation project that connects with community-based tourism in order to foster engagement and participation of the locals (and the tourists) in order to fight environmental challenges.

We offer you the opportunity for visitors to come admire and photographe the Cambodian iconic bird in their natural element. You will also discover the Cambodian rural lifestyle while visiting !
